Knitting stalled...

I would love a new knitting project. In fact, I have several ideas.

However, I have many many metres of laceweight yarn in skeins.

I currently have no swift.

Something needs to be done about this...

Not a lot of knitting time.
Definitely no time to work out a new project right now.

I know what I want to knit (Ivy, Icarus...) but there are problems.

Sigh.

Maybe next weekend.

Finished Birch

Birch is now blocked, and what a fabulous project she was. I definitely will be knitting more lace shawls!

Here's a closeup post-blocking:

And now that she's done, it's time for the wrap-up:

Project Details:
--------------------
Pattern:
Birch by Sharon Miller from Rowan 34 - Stocking Stitch version.

Yarn:
Alessandra Super Kid Seta Mohair/Silk blend in a lovely red that is impossible to photograph -- 70% kid mohair, 30% silk.

Needles: Rosewood Holz & Stein 4.0mm circular needles (what a treat to work with -- and so perfect for the slippery-fine mohair/silk.

I think this was my ideal first-lace-shawl project. Now to find the next one!

Birch-to-be-blocked

Ok, haven't found the time/space/energy to block Birch yet. I always wondered how people could be so close to finishing a project (eg. have the knitting done) and not finish the final step. Now I get it.

But I have a camera power cord, and therefore much better pictures of birch pre-blocking.

Here she is with the llama:

And a totally boring shot:

And a closeup of doom:

Now I have to figure out this blocking-giant-items thing... wish me luck!

The Wrap Rap

Yep.
I want to knit Ivy by Glenna, because I think it's the most lovely sweater on the planet.

Don't you love it?!??!

Now to find the perfect yarn.

Huzzah!!!

Well, the knitting of birch is DONE!!!

Here's a sneak peak:

(Please forgive the photo... my camera battery died and this was the best I could get with the last 10 seconds of power).

Now to figure out how to block this beast!!! I am in love!

Knit one, punt too

Apparently football games are great for getting knitting done!

We almost have a birch... bear with me!
